Have not been terribly involved with my Clubman rebuild for a while and just starting to get a bit interested again. Was looking at an 1100 block and crank that I had machined locally and am a bit disappointed in what I now see, so looking at getting things sorted a bit better. I do not want to try and navigate around Sydney for a few reasons at this time and was searching and came up with Classic Mini Motor repairs at Moss Vale and Mini Works at Narellan, Moss Vale is an easy drive for me, Narellan is about as close to Sydney as I want to go.

Has anyone had any dealings with either, both state that they have years of experience, I would like to get a good job done, not looking for a race motor, just something that will not fail after a short time. Any help would be appreciated.

Graham

I know Wayne at Mini Works in Narellan. Good bloke and had done a really good job for other people I know.

Ditto for Mini Works. While I haven't had work done by him, he has a good reputation with other builders and a long connection with minis and their owners.
I have no knowledge of the Moss Vale business.
May I suggest also considering Bob Rowntree at Thirlmere. He has built 2 road engines for me over recent years and has done a very good job. He is mostly MG/Healey but does all A and B series motors. He is fairly busy so not a quick turnaround but I found him very honest and thorough.

Ok,Thanks for the replies, have decided to put it off for a while to see how things all pan out over the next few months, see if we make it out the other end without the virus, will be staying in isolation as much as possible now being of elderly age.

Mine is with Wayne at miniworks. I’ll let you know how it goes but he appears to be incredibly busy so mine won’t be ready until November. More than just engine though.
