Hi All, I would like to know where to find the engine number on a block. Tried a search of this site but too mind numbing looking for the answer. If the number is located where I think it is, it's too faint to read. Thanks in advance.

Stamped on top of block, next to water pump.
If hard to read put a little battery acid on it.

Once you get it clean as suggested above. Simple white or yellow chalk will help you to read it. Doesn’t last long but it’s cheap and your rego guy will love it.
