Just send them the ID plate and you will get a fully restored 'original' car back :?

Be fair! They would probably need the speedo also for that...

Which is correct
1. John Sneddon's book says it's 1961
2. Morris 850 scanned page saying its a mid 63

If it's an early 61 it would seem worth doing wouldn't it.

Cheers

Jim

The Aussie build number is 31267. Definitely didn't make that many by 1961. Sneddons book should say 1963 too.

If you can do all the work yourself and have an emotional attachment to the car I'd think about fixing it, otherwise you can buy one for much less than what it'd cost to do this one. Definitely worth saving the 850 bits though.

Yeah wow that there would be a resto of passion. I'd do it if I was doing the work myself and if time(/effort) wasn't an issue. If you just wanna get it on the road I'd look elsewhere and put that away for a raining day or give it to someone who's more keen.

My early 63 with 12/62 stamped switches, wiper motor etc is in the 27,000 range in numbers. you do the math.
if its cheep enough, the bits will be invaluable if you buy another car that needs some bits.

Thanks for your input. I am going to pass on this one.
If it was earlier I would do it. I have never owned a Mini but I have owned a moke. I am into Porsches and VW's so I will keep an eye out for an earlier project.

Cheers

Jim
