I haven't seen any posts on this yet.. This scheme looks to have been approved for modified cars in NSW and allows 60 days of use a year (like the existing historic rego). Has anyone heard anything further?

You need to be in a club which is affiliated with the ACMC, in order to avail yourself of this new scheme.
Sounds like Mini Car Club are considering it as Awoody posted, but there will be others.

How modified your car is compared to a Vehicle Standards publication (VSI 6) will determine if you can go onto the scheme as being self-certified; or if your car needs NSW Engineering certificate. A previous approved Engineers cert if you have one will suffice.

There is a bit more administrative paperwork to deal with - ie you need a Blue slip regardless of current status to get onto the scheme, and both your club AND the ACMC have to stamp and return your papers before you can trundle up to an RMS or Service NSW centre to get your plates. ACMC are charging $25 as a transaction fee for stamping your papers. The plates issued will also be the green concessional plates you see on golf carts, tractors etc not the Historic "H" plates we've all been used to.

I can't speak for MCCNSW, but I am a club registrar for another marque club. We haven't as yet had any applicants come through us but I am aware there are at least 60 cars already signed up to the scheme as at late last month.
