Hi Leigh

Your car is 8 chassis numbers less than one of my 4 1961 Morris 850s. That is the stock Number which will be above the ID Plate mine is M 2745.

These stock numbers were put on by Sole Western Australia Distributor Winterbottom Motor Co Ltd.
Also they usually have pressure sensitive label on the firewall stating this and passenger side door near the black plastic kick with alloy surround.

Your cars date of delivery is July 1961. From march to September these models had unique body and parts fitted. Your car should have one piece sills and floorpan, black speedo, black ignition panel, black kick plates, welded front seat brackets same colour as body and bar stool type seats. These are only few things that these models had.

Your cars wiper motor will be 12 60.

Great to see that you have bought an early mini not to many around nowadays with matching numbers.

If you need help or advice plenty of people on here have early minis.

Welcome to join my Facebook Group called World 850 Mini Group.

Congratulations and enjoy your 850.

Thanks
Grant

As you would have seen on our post above, We quoted M2745, which was passed onto us in early December from the owner of the Car, who lives in Perth.

You say "one of my 4 1961 Morris 850s", could it be that you once owned this car? with said number. Or have the Dealers doubled up on there texta number?

So, should we add "hee hee" to "easy peasy" in the list of exclamations that come from the mouth of Matt the Mini Man?

Its hard to keep track of all the numbers when you own so many fine un restored examples hey Grant?
Its better than a shed full of bogged up old jam jobs I bet. :?
