A huge thanks to you guys for the help. Seriously HUGe!

Getting dark but after the repair kit came today I spread out my gear in the corridor outside (we live in an apartment and I have to park and work on the mini on the street), and put it all together. The replacement spring was insanely powerful. The rubber boot was also way tighter and the seal around the piston fanned out a little more. Wasn't too hard this time to get the cylinder back in and hose back on. By the light of an iPhone and the wife pumping the pedal, it looks to be fixed.

The clutch sits way higher now and is quite springy. Will take some getting used to but gee I forgot how much more fun minis are when they can drive.

Fingers crossed it all stays sealed and there's no leak anywhere. Took her for a five minute spin and all seemed good!

Thanks again all, legends!

Hope you washed all the excess fluid off with some water  .

When i'm working with brake fluid i always have a wet rag and a spray bottle with soapy water in it , glad you got it sorted .

AHA! THAT'S what I forgot to ask.

Nuts, hope it's not too late - sprayed brake fluid into the gaps below when I was bleeding - shall I just squirt some water into the general area?

Is there anywhere to avoid spraying water when I clean it up?!

Lightly rinse it in the general area where the fluid may have got onto the paint , try and keep the water away from electrical bits , íe; mainly dizzy area , and also carby area , no need to create another drama eh .

Done! Seems ok, just used a squirty water bottle and directed it into all the good spots.

Thanks again!
