Which order doea the thermostat go in? The book isnt mega helpful. Do i need a gasket between the head and the engine steady? Does the steady go on top of the thermostat cover?

If I'm carrying on like a pork-chop, I'm having a great time.

If I go very quiet there's a very good chance I broke something.

Head, then thermostat, then gasket, then engine steady, then gasket then thermostat housing.

The head should have a groove around it where the thermostat sits into

Or to be more precise:

Head then thermostat, then gasket sealant, then gasket, then gasket sealant, then engine steady, then gasket sealant, then gasket, then gasket sealant then thermostat housing

Oh, don't forget the sealant on the thermostat stud threads!

Not necessary if you put enough on the gasket, esp when using Permatex black or grey (silicone based)
