I see that Matt, but I'm installing the motor/gearbox this week so can't wait till something turns up.

9yatah - Just got off the phone to a bloke, he has quite a few speedos of various types, and several gearboxes. Don't expect any luck with the gears, but the speedos look promising. I'll keep you in mind if there are a few 1280 type speedos.

You could probably change the speedo drive gears with the engine in the car with the radiator out if need be.
The 7-18t combination that you need for your existing speedo is a bit rare even in the UK, though Guessworks seem to source used ones fairly often. There are two possible 7-18t sets, but I note they don't have the 7t listed for either at the moment.
When we got ours, postage was fast and reasonably priced.

I put a Moke 140kmh one in mine. Is marked 800 turns/km. With a 3.44 diff and std speedo drive gears it is pretty spot on. And no need to do mph/kmh mental arithmetic. :)
