Hi there guys, just reassembling my motor, just checked the idler gear clearance and I have 9 thou clearance, a tad too much. I have the red gasket, is the blue gasket a better option and how much would it pull the clearance back to, looking for about 4 thou. Gasket is $25, shim is $50.

I have a whole tote bin full of good s/h idler thrust washers (your `shims'), I can send you some for postage.
Let me know what thickness washers you have in now. Measure them accurately with a micrometer.

Edit:
these are all A series washers 3/4" bore, I have no A+ 7/8" bore ones.
