I was parked next to a Holden Cruze on Sat. AWD and tiny about the size of a Ignis or Echo. There you go 4wd and tiny motor could be interesting...

Holden Cruze = Suzuki Ignis

The wonders of "badge engineering". Remember:

Stockman = Sierra
Barina = Swift
Apollo = Camry
... and many more :wink:

The ignis 4 door uses 1.3 liter 4WD, and it'd not constant.
It's FWD until it slips, and a traction clutch sends some of the power to the back.
It's a good idea, the driveshafts up the back end are really small, since they arent designed to do the actual driving.
The ignis 2 door uses either 1.3 (base model) or 1.5 (sport), but is only FWD.
Cruze is 1.5 4WD.
The point of this is the suzi engine would be smaller and more suited to the little engine bay of a mini.

Yeah I wondered if it was something like that. That would be an interesting conversion even if not constant 4wd.

Was checking out one of these at the wrecker the other day. Looks to me as if it's a bit more compact than the Swift GTi, but it's kinda hard to tell when 1/2 of the engine bay has been stoved in :lol:
