I've been working on my Speedometer set up and I ordered a full new set of gauges, and few other parts I needed. I also had the Honda/Mini axles made up. And some boring little things here and there while I wait for my heater box and petrol tank to get back from the painter.
I recently picked up another little MX5 since it was cheap an only need a few small repairs, I'm planning to sell it for a quick profit. I also bought a V70 Estate, turbo, AWD and 5 speed manual gearbox. I bought it cheap, it was disassembled and came with an "R" engine, so I've got a little better turbo and I'm building a bigger down pipe to wake it up a little bit. Not sure what my plans are for this car, should be fun for a bit, but I'll make a pretty good profit on it too.
Once again, I start making progress on the Travelle"R" and then I can't say no to another quick project when it comes along at a good price. Or two.

You guys are seriously going to think I am just making all this stuff up and I'm just full of excuses. Once again I started working on the Travelle"R", I was all excited and then a new project found me. It was on my list of cars I would love to own if I ever found one. It's a 1977 Mazda REPU (Rotary Engine Pick Up). Any rotary fans out there? It looks rough right now but it's solid and fairly complete. I've had more interest in this truck than most other vehicles I've owned.

Nice. I recently checked out a very nice REPU imported to Brisbane by Adrian Zaini. It is now part of one of Australia's best Mazda collections.

Well a Ferrari F40 is at the top of mine, but not sure that is going to happen. And I've already got my number 2 (single turbo Supra) and many of my other favourites. But the REPU was a smokin' deal and very solid and mostly complete.

Here are some pics.

Crazy ports, never seen one quite like this before.

zulu - I sure hope it's not decades, and I have so many projects neither of us can keep up. I get very excited and enthusiastic about projects, I want to do them all, I love doing the work and I love learning about new things.

Archangel007 - It essentially is a peripheral port however those ports in the rotor housings aren't punched right through like a true peripheral port. Instead they come through the irons and pass through a section that used to be part of the water jacket. It's quite interesting, it was apparently done at Atkins Rotary in the US years ago. It looks a bit extreme for street use but I'm going to put it back together and see what it's like. I may end up going a little more mild and maybe use this in a drift car.

Okay, I crossed of a lot of things on my list. Caught up on car work and I started back at the Mini today. I picked up my fuel tank from the painter a few months ago and finally installed the fuel pump and the fuel gauge sender unit and put the tank in the car as well as the engine. next up is plumbing the fuel lines and the brake lines. Hoping to fire it up and have it move under its own power for the first time after a rest for a few years. I'm going to try and resist buying any more cars and focus on this Mini, I need to make some serious progress again.
