its tempting though isnt it. although it is the G16B and the 16 v head is different to the g13b twin cam head.

Yep, Australian delivered alright. Fast Fours and Rotaries had one as a project in the mid-90's. Very rare. If I remember correctly the GTi twin cam head fits the 1600 SOHC block. And both blocks use the same mounts.

what is the point of putting a twin cam head on if there is already a 16v head on it? also it may bolt to the block but id be guessing that there different pistons in a gti 1.3 motor than in a 1.6 SOHC motor... food for thought. but it may be possible to put a 1.3 gti onto the AWD drive line..... also more food for thought.

I agree, why would you bother swapping the heads. I don't remember whether the pistons were the same, or whether the gearboxes interchange. But I have heard of the GTi boys usiing the 1.6 crank and rods in the 1.3 block.

Looking at the figures, I'd use the 1.6 engine as is. Only 4kw less but with 20Nm more torque. I'll take the torque thanks! Also the SOHC head would give you more room in a Mini engine bay.

Suzuki Swift AWD 1990:
Power 70 kW
Torque 133 Nm
Bore and Stroke 75x90 mm

Suzuki Swift GTi 1990:
Power 74 kW
Torque 113 Nm
Bore and Stroke 74x75.5 mm

(Figures from drive.com.au)

I bet the reserve is pretty high, as it looks tidy. But it does not seem to have Air Con and teh KM are pretty high which will make it harder for the dealer to shift.

Funny, he does not have it advertised in the trading post or on any similar cars for sale websites. Must be trying his chances on eBay first.

1600 block is about an inch taller i believe.

Won't rev anywhere near aswell so whilst it may produce more HP it will take longer to do get there.

wider valve angle, larger valves, larger ports, camshaft/valve drive mechanism.... all = higher mass flow of gas = more torque& more hp  What better reason is there?

suzuki engines are similar to toyota engines that i am more familiar with, but basically both companies build different performance into different engines using the same basic block casting by using different heads plus different bore and stroke. you may as well ask why would you bolt a 12g940 head to a small bore A-series, the answer is the same.

i would rather just bolt a swift gti 1298cc to the awd drive line, lots less pissing around imo.
