Not quite legal but you could bash the insides out of the cat so it is hollow it is a honey comb type material that breaks up if hit with a hammer

A catalytic converter is needed on unleaded cars to break up some of the smelly exhaust gases (by law). Cars run better without them, but can smell like rotten eggs!

at least then you can blame it on the car, eh meeni?
