And given that the driveshafts would have previously been tempered this is not necessary. MiniVan the full process of professionally heat treating (annealing, hardening and tempering) is quite an involved process requiring a specialised furnace if you want to really do it properly, which is why alot people don't do it.
And if you don't have the right equip you generally end up with bent or weaker shafts.
