I am not too sure how many members are aware that there are less than 1500 posts to go before Ausmini goes through the mighty one million posts mark, an absolutely amazing achievement. Given the usual level of activity this shouldn't take too long to achieve.

I think we as Members should reflect on what this website has meant to us over many years as it would have to be the most informative source for discussions, events, technical issues etc on all things Mini. In addition, the Mods have maintained a balanced control of the quality and content of texts to ensure that the integrity remains at an exemplary level.

To Mick and Crew, Greg (low n blown) and I sincerely thank you guys for your efforts with special mention to Doug for his incredible commitment and input. Such landmarks have to be celebrated (as you do!) so, as a mark of appreciation, we have donated through the website's usual channel sufficient for you guys to put a carton of coldies on ice for when the big number is cracked.

Well done guys. A great effort.

Richard

I second that. Facebook may be having a detrimental effect on sites like this but it does still enable the community to come together. Running and maintaining a site like this is an effort, one which most take for granted. Cheers boys for your contribution over the years.

Richard and Greg - on behalf of the forum moderators thanks for the kind words.

I've only been here for five minutes compared to many other members. As best I can work out Poeee established the forum on March 16th 2004. Since then 6910 have registered, although some of those registrations are bots, not people.

The forum is its members. Sure, there's a computer in the background and some volunteers occasionally directing traffic and keeping the hamster fed, but it's the willingness of Mini enthusiasts to participate and contribute to discussions that make Ausmini such a valuable resource.

As in life nothing stands still for too long. Members come and go, and some that have gone occasionally return. For those with a passion for the fantastic little monocoque we love (and sometimes hate) I find that this is as good a spot as any to mingle, listen, chat and learn.

From my knowledge it was an augmentation of a forum that existed for a short time between 'tzi' (or similar) and 'poeee'.

It's been a fun ride!

I saw mention of tzi in the early posts.

This seems to be the first set of posts in the new (current) Ausmini forum.

Interestingly the wayback machine has a snapshot of the old forum from 2004. None of the content seems to work, but might bring back some memories for some people? It was much before my time as a mini owner..
