hey gang, got the loom in mad- mk1 and have had a quick play with the motor, to see if i can get it to start.

a friend that worked at a mechanic, roughky did the timing,

i have power at the coiul, but number 1 theres no spark (with the plug out, on the lead, against the block..)

now, theres a wire hanging of my dizzy.

where does this go?

i looked on the delux, and that wire returns to the coil, but in my loom, there is already wires that go to the coil.

any hints tips tricks ideas.

cheers jamie

That wire from the dizzy should be connected to the -ve terminal of the coil.
You will never get a spark otherwise.

Time to check what those other wires are you've hooked up to the coil :!:
The +ve terminal should have a supply from the ignition switch.

Follow the -ve coil wire through and see if it has a loose connector for the distributer wire .

your loom will have power to the coil and a tacho feed, hence two wires. As said you need to connect the dissy to the coil to get power to it.

Cheers
Aaron

The coil ends up with three wires hooked to it normally

.. when you have a tacho fitted. Without a tach, it's only two: +12V from the ignition switch (coil +ve) and the low tension trigger from the points (coil -ve).
